Spring at St. Ives

Snowmobiling:

Even as the sun comes out and begins to melt the winter snow here at St. Ives, Crowfoot Mountain, one of BC's best sledding destination, still draws sledders from all over western Canada to it's high alpine terrain. The season starts in November and runs right through to April .... or even later!

St. Ives Resort is only minutes from the Crowfoot turnoff and provides year-round accommodation in comfortable waterfront condos, complete with a kitchen, gas fireplace and plenty of parking. Just bring some groceries and a your favorite beverage and watch the moon shine onto beautiful Shuswap Lake.

Snowshoeing:

The north Shuswap offer a variety of trails for snowshoeing enthusiasts, from easy riverside trails to challenging high alpine treks. After a day of taking in our breathtaking scenery, St. Ives offers a warm and cozy place to warm up and spend a quiet evening.

Fishing:

Some of the best fishing of the year starts in early March. As the water begins to warm, the big Rainbow trout start cruising the shorelines looking for the schools of fry to feed on. Trolling minnow pattern flies (bucktails, muddlers, clousers) or small spoons near the surface can reward the angler with Rainbow trout up to 20 pounds! There are few places in the world where fish of this caliber can be caught on flyrods while the rest of the country is still covered in snow. The good fishing continues into June when the hot sun forces the big fish back into the deeper water.
